Birthdays
Have each student prepare a small piece of paper.
Have each student prepare a small piece of paper.
- On one side, the student writes their birthday in 00/00/000 format. ex. 07/07/1989
- Then, on the other side, the student writes out their birthday. ex. July 8th, 1989
Use these papers of the students' birthdays to practice saying dates.
- quiz students on how to say the date from the 00/00/0000 format.
- have students order the birthdays from the earliest in the year to latest.
- play a memory game. ex. when is Maria's birthday?
What day is today?
- write a date on the board:
- format:month/day/year or month day, year
- have students practice saying and writing the date.
