Introducing Vocabulary
Brainstorming. Write the vocabulary topic in the center of the board and have students brainstorm words related to it.
Try to limit the new vocabulary words to a list of about 10.
Cater to a variety of learning styles:
kinesthetic/tactile- learn by doing. Move or act out the new word.
auditory- learn by talking. Explain orally and have students repeat the words.
visual- learn by seeing. Use pictures and have students write down the words.
Try to use real-life objects/places/or examples
